Janina Diaz-S.

Over 20 years serving the community in the non-profit sector and promoting the field of Art Therapy within the Fine Arts and Mental Health Industry.

Mission is to provide knowledge and experience in order to improve and enhance human life quality through the creative arts, verbal psychotherapy, mindfulness and essential oils, to various populations and in various languages.

 

Specialties​

Child, Adolescent and Adult mental health aggravated by pain, trauma, anxiety, post traumatic stress syndrome, post-par tum depression, body image, phobias, panic attacks, depression, self-injurious behavior and co-occurring diagnosis- mental illness and chemical dependency.​

 

Art Therapists are Master's level professionals who hold a degree in art therapy or a related field.  Educational requirements include:  theories of art therapy, counseling, and psychotherapy; ethics and standards of practice; assessment and evaluation; individual, group, and family techniques; human and creative development; multicultural issues; research methods; and practicum experiences in clinical, community, and/or other settings.

Janina Diaz-S.:
She is currently working at CBHCare in New Jersey and continues doing part-time private Art Therapy as a supervisor and psychotherapist in JaninArt of Well-being.  She has a Masters of Art Therapy from NYU and also has a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Hamilton College.  Janina is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in the Greater New York area.  She believes the creative process has powerful healing properties.
